Scottsdale Pet Friendly Destinations

Scottsdale, Arizona is known for many different things. It’s known for its close proximity to Phoenix, high-end resorts and spas, an expansive art scene, and some of the world’s best shopping. So it should come as no surprise that Scottsdale is also one of the most pet friendly cities in America. In fact, Scottsdale doesn’t just make the top 10 list of most pet friendly cities in America. It tops the list.

Scottsdale Pet Friendly Activities

Obviously this means the list of pet friendly destinations in Scottsdale is virtually endless. However, we will do our part and highlight some of the most popular pet friendly spots in and around the town. But note that our list will barely scratch the surface of possibilities in this real-life heaven on earth.

Scottsdale Pet Friendly Parks

Chaparral Park

Chaparral Park is a 100+ acre park located on Hayden Road in Scottsdale, Arizona. Not only is it pet friendly, but it features an off-leash dog park. The dog park is over 3 acres and has multiple fenced play areas as well as, water fountains and plenty of seating.

If you are venturing outside of the dog park, you will not be disappointed by your options. It offers basketball courts, volleyball courts, lit ball fields, a lake for fishing, a pool, playgrounds, plenty of restrooms, and a well-equipped community center.

Mountain View Park

Mountain View Park is another local favorite and for good reason. The park is over 30 acres and is located in the heart of Scottsdale on East Mountain View Road. It features a large 12,000 community center equipped with a kitchen, activity rooms, and a half basketball court.

Outside of the community center, there are tennis ball courts, basketball courts, a sand volleyball court, playgrounds, restrooms, and multiple soccer fields. Pet parents love how much free space there is for their pups to run and play fetch.

Scottsdale Pet Friendly Breweries

OHSO Brewery and Distillery

OHSO is located in North Scottsdale on Hayden Rd, and it is not only pet friendly, but it is also a certified dog friendly brewery. They serve their 36 signature brews as well as several wine varieties and plenty of crowd-pleasing menu items. Their patio is completely dog friendly and OHSO even serves dog biscuits.

Fate Brewing Company

On North Scottsdale Avenue in Scottsdale, Arizona there lies Fate Brewing Company. This brewery is a must-go if you’re into that type of thing. They offer amazing woodfired pizza in addition to some other yummy food items. Fate is a brewing company though, so they are most loved for their craft beer selection that changes as the seasons change.

Scottsdale Pet Friendly Destinations

Dogs are welcomed and encouraged on their comfortable patio. The tables and benches are plenty large enough for a crowd. And most come equipped with leash hooks to hold your pooch in place, freeing up your hands to enjoy a nice, cold brew.

Scottsdale Pet Friendly Restaurants

The Capital Grille

If you are in the mood for something a little more high-end, look no further than The Capital Grille on North Scottsdale Rd. They specialize in upscale cuisine including dry-aged steaks and fresh seafood. They are a little higher on the price scale but well worth the money, especially if you splurge for a glass of their world-class wine selection.

The Capital Grille features a large open sky patio which is 100% dog-friendly. If you plan on getting a table here though, it’s not a bad idea to reserve ahead of time.

Temptations Cafe

In the mood for something a little less ritzy and a little more intimate? Venture over to East McDowell Rd and you’ll find the Temptations Cafe. This is small-town dining in a big city.

Temptations Cafe features an espresso bar, comfort food classics, and plenty of retro decor.

They also have a small patio where dogs are permitted and will even be provided with their own little water bowls to help stave off the Arizona heat. Goers have complained about the limited outdoor seating, however, so it’s a good idea to call ahead.

Rehab Burger Therapy

If you’re in the mood for a burger, you can’t go wrong with the Rehab Burger Therapy on East 2nd Street. They are famous for their off the wall flavor combinations such as the Peanut Butter and Jelly Bacon Burger. But they serve plenty of your standard fare as well.

The restaurant boasts a casual atmosphere and a pet friendly patio.

Scottsdale Pet Friendly Shopping

Scottsdale Fashion Square

If you need to get some shopping done while in Scottsdale, you will probably find what you are looking for at the Scottsdale Fashion Square on East Camelback Road. It is a high-end mall with more than 200 shops to get lost in.

Dogs are welcome if they are under 12 pounds and kept in a bag or a stroller.

Scottsdale Quarter

The Scottsdale Quarter is located on North Scottsdale Road and features countless shops, boutiques, and restaurants. There is a large interactive fountain, a movie theater, seating areas, and plenty of shade.

The entire quarter is pet friendly, although individual shops may have differing pet policies. Pets must be leashed at all times.

And Countless Others...

Of course, this list does not exhaust all of the pet friendly locations in Scottsdale, Arizona. With an accolade like the number one most pet friendly city in America there are bound to be countless other pet friendly hot spots to check out. The beautiful thing is, we may never be able to visit or even list them all! And that’s okay. Honestly, we are just so grateful that a town like Scottsdale exists and is our own backyard.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your pup and get out there and experience all this great city has to offer.
